Full Product Collection Development

From a Validated Direction to a Complete Collection

Once the Masterpiece-to-Market™ Pilot produces a Proceed decision, ARTiSTORY turns the validated direction into a coherent product-design system for the agreed range. We develop the collection architecture, design assets, product applications and production handover files your internal team, suppliers or manufacturing partners need to take the collection forward.

What We Develop

  • Collection architecture: product hierarchy, range structure and SKU direction

  • Expanded Artifact Library and collection Style Guide

  • Production-ready motifs, prints, patterns and seamless repeats

  • Placement artwork and scale guidance for individual products

  • Colourways, palettes and material direction

  • Product applications across the agreed collection

  • Packaging concepts and application guidance

  • Collection, product and campaign storytelling

  • Organised production handover files for internal teams and suppliers

Creative and Cultural Oversight

ARTiSTORY leads the cultural research, creative direction, product design and design-asset development. We work with your team and suppliers throughout development to protect the integrity of the concept across products, materials, colourways, packaging and storytelling.

Where museums, archives, artists or cultural institutions are involved, ARTiSTORY coordinates rights clearances and product approvals. For living heritage projects, we can engage relevant artisans or tradition practitioners to contribute knowledge, validate provenance and support culturally accurate development.

Creative Development and Manufacturing: Who Does What?

ARTiSTORY’s core role covers research, collection strategy, creative direction, product design, design assets, rights coordination, approvals and production handover. Your internal product team or existing suppliers can then manage technical development, sampling, manufacturing, quality control and delivery, with ARTiSTORY providing creative and cultural oversight where required.

If you need an extended route to production, sourcing, supplier coordination, sampling, manufacturing, quality control and delivery can be provided separately through A Bit of Art. The scope, commercial terms and responsibilities for this optional support are agreed independently from ARTiSTORY’s creative and product-development engagement.

Product Development Across Key Categories

The development system is adapted to the technical, material and commercial requirements of each category.

Fashion and Accessories

Collection architecture can extend across apparel, bags, footwear, scarves and small accessories, supported by motifs, repeats, placements, colourways, material direction, trims, packaging applications and supplier-ready artwork.

Home Textiles and Interiors

Design systems can be translated into bedding, cushions, throws, rugs, tableware, wallcoverings and selected interior objects, with repeat scales, placement guidance, coordinated colourways, material recommendations and room-level collection logic.

Selected Destination Products

For museums, cultural destinations, hospitality and travel retail, ARTiSTORY can develop focused ranges such as gifts, stationery, accessories, homeware and commemorative products, aligned with the destination’s audience, story, price architecture and retail environment.

Full Product Collection Development FAQs

What files are included in the production handover?

The handover is tailored to the agreed scope and may include collection architecture, Style Guides, motifs, prints, seamless repeats, placement artwork, colourways, material direction, product and packaging applications, artwork specifications and organised working or export files for your internal team and suppliers.

Can ARTiSTORY work with our existing suppliers?

Yes. ARTiSTORY can collaborate with your internal product team, nominated suppliers and manufacturing partners, answering creative questions and reviewing samples or applications for consistency with the approved concept, cultural narrative and rights requirements.

How are creative and rights approvals managed?

ARTiSTORY coordinates an agreed review process with the brand and, where relevant, museums, archives, artists, cultural institutions or rights holders. Approval stages, submission requirements and response responsibilities are defined at the start of the project.

Can ARTiSTORY support manufacturing?

ARTiSTORY’s core engagement covers creative and product development through production handover. Optional sourcing, supplier coordination, sampling, manufacturing, quality control and delivery may be provided separately through A Bit of Art under an independently agreed scope.

How long does full collection development take?

Timing depends on the number of categories and SKUs, design complexity, approval requirements, sampling rounds and supplier readiness. ARTiSTORY establishes a staged timeline after the collection brief, scope and production route have been confirmed.

Who owns the designs, and how is licensing handled?

Ownership and usage rights depend on the agreed creative scope and the underlying cultural or artistic source. ARTiSTORY documents the applicable design usage, licensing, territory, term, product categories and approval requirements in the project agreement and relevant rights documentation.
