Matisse in Motion: Fauvist Color Meets Contemporary Fashion

The Brief

Emerging designer brand UOOYAA wanted to translate Henri Matisse’s expressive use of color, form, and emotion into a contemporary fashion collection for younger, creatively minded consumers.

ARTiSTORY's Role

Our role included curating suitable artworks, defining crops and focal compositions, extracting distinctive visual elements, and placements. We also supported product storytelling, rights clearance, and approvals from concept through production.

The Collection

A total of 25-SKU ready-to-wear capsule inspired by Matisse’s The Red Studio, La Blouse Roumaine, and Reader on a Black Background. The collection extended across tops, dresses, knitwear, outerwear, and coordinating separates, using bold prints, premium fabrics, layered textures, and expressive color.

The Outcome

The collaboration brought Matisse’s visual language into contemporary wardrobes, strengthening UOOYAA’s positioning at the intersection of fashion, art, and creative self-expression.
