Making Art Accessible to All
Mandai Wildlife Group x MFA Boston x Audubon
Where Nature Meets Masterpiece: An Immersive Avian Journey

The Challenge
The primary challenge lay in the need to authentically translate the historical significance of naturalist John James Audubon’s work into a modern, physical environment. Mandai Wildlife Group sought to bridge the gap between classical art and a contemporary conservation-focused experience to mark the opening of their brand-new Bird Paradise. The objective was to ensure these historical depictions would resonate with modern consumers and families while continuing to preserve the integrity and educational value of the original nineteenth-century masterpieces.
Our Solution
ARTiSTORY facilitated a groundbreaking collaboration between the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA Boston), and the Mandai Wildlife Group to launch ‘Take Flight’. This accessible storytelling initiative brought three distinct art installations to life, transforming 2D illustrations into immersive, 3D location-based experiences. By merging fine art with environmental education, the project turned the park into a living gallery where visitors could engage with "The Birds of America" in a tangible way.
