Through ARTiSTORY's licensing program, jewelry brand Gnoce has partnered with the British Library to create a whimsical collection inspired by "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." This collaboration brings the beloved characters and scenes from L. Frank Baum's classic tale to life in the form of charming jewelry pieces.

Gnoce, as the licensee in this project, aims to create unique and nostalgic jewelry pieces that capture the magic and adventure of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Their goal is to offer fans of the story a way to carry a piece of this enchanting world with them in their everyday lives, while also introducing the classic tale to new audiences through wearable art.

British Library

The British Library, serving as the intellectual property partner, provides access to its vast collection of illustrations and artwork related to "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." By sharing these treasured resources, the British Library helps ensure the authenticity and historical accuracy of the designs, while also promoting its rich cultural heritage to a wider audience.

THE ARTIFACT

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The collection draws inspiration from W.W. Denslow's original illustrations for "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, first published in 1900. Denslow's iconic depictions of Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion have become synonymous with the story. These illustrations are notable for their Art Nouveau style and whimsical character designs, which helped bring Baum's fantastical world to life for generations of readers.
