Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) plays a crucial role in this collaboration by providing the intellectual property rights to Claude Monet's artwork. As one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world, the MFA Boston's involvement lends authenticity and prestige to the project, allowing ANTI:DOTE to accurately represent and honor Monet's masterpieces through their culinary creations.

THE ARTIFACT

Water Lilies

The primary artwork featured in this collaboration is Claude Monet's "Water Lilies" from 1907. This painting is part of Monet's famous series depicting his water garden at Giverny. The "Water Lilies" series represents a significant period in Monet's career, where he focused on capturing the ever-changing effects of light on water. Inspired by Japanese prints, Monet aimed to evoke "presence through shadow and the whole through the part," creating a sense of the surrounding environment without directly representing it.
